Congratulations to all the connections for the superb win for Goodwood Starlight, and to of course Robert Lucy Butler who deserves this win so much.

Well done to all the connections for keeping the faith in both horse and jockey!

The well-backed GOODWOOD STARLIGHT bolted up. He got himself very warm beforehand, but travelled like a dream through the race and arrived on the scene in second gear nearing the furlong pole. His rider didn´t have to extend him to go clear and he rates value for even further than his wide-winning margin. It´s hard to see where this vast improvement came from and it was his first success since registering back-to-back wins in 2008, but the second of those did come from an 11lb higher mark. He was a very welcome winner for the yard.

Sheena and I attended a fund raising event back in May to help raise money for the lovely Kim Underwood who works in the Owners and Trainers at Fontwell and Goodwood amongst others. It is fanastic that so much money was raised for such a worthy cause and well done to Jo Littmoden and Beccy Green who organised the event so well.
