WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM SHEENA AND HER TEAM!

29th DECEMBER 2009

EASTON CLUMP'S DEBUT BUMPER at NEWBURY- WHAT A CRACKING RACE!

Easton Clump - who won The Buest Turned Out! Well done, Hayley!

Owner Roger Wheeler, Jamie Goldstein and Sheena discussing tactics pre race.

What is it with Sheena giving many of her new owners such a great result on their first run? Roger Wheeler, owner of the stallion DANCING SPREE having his first horse (home bred) Easton Clump in training Sheena took him to Newbury to run in a bumper to give the horse his first experience on a racecourse!

Sheena's horses are always looking their best (well done Hayley for yet another best turned out prize!) and they are always there to put their best foot forward. After the great Golan Way win on Boxing Day Sheena was hoping for a good run... and actually got a brilliant run with Easton Clump in the leading pack all the way round and fighting out a brave finish at the end to be beaten by half a length giving the winner 10lbs! A suberb result for Roger who was with his family and friends. Easton Clumps starting price was a very respectable 33/1 - and he earns prize money on his debut.

Easton Clump - which many of us think is a fantastic name - was named after a landmark in a place called Easton which is known as The Clump, hence the name Easton Clump.

Although the weather at Newbury was absolutely dire with temperatures only just above freezing and pouring with rain it warmed the cockles seeing Easton Clump putting in such a fantastic first effort - and so very nearly winning! Jamie said Easton Clump he gave him a fantastic feel and was possibly a little disappointed he had not got the better of the winning horse in the finals strides.

It was hysterical to be screaming "come on, Clump" at the tops of our voices in the final furlong but Sheena said the name "Clump" suits him just fine!

Nice one, Clump!

Sheena, looking rightly thrilled with the result, and Roger enjoying a well deserved glass of champagne courtesy of Newbury Racecourse who also replayed the race for us 3 times!

Courtesy of The Racing Post:
Easton Clump, who is Flat-bred and from the family of Master Willie, ran a terrific race on this debut. He was another who was always in the front rank and looked the more likely winner entering the final furlong, but lost out to a more experienced rival. He was clear of the rest and should be up to winning a bumper.

GOLAN WAY WINS AT WINCANTON AND OTHER NEWS!

Golan Way for his gutsy front running win

===========================

GOLAN WAY, who had yet to race over this far, made all in tenacious fashion on this drop back into handicap company and opened his account for the term at the third attempt. He unseated in the Relkeel Hurdle last time, but that was at an early stage and he showed on his seasonal bow behind Mr Thriller that he was capable of winning a nice pot this season. He is happiest when out in front and should at least remain competitive after another rise.

Great to see Golan Way and Jamie Goldstein leading the contenders in todays « 3:25 » Pertemps Handicap Hurdle (Series Qualifier)at Wincanton a merry dance. It was soon a catch me if you can race, and they couldn't. Another fantastic ride by Jamie Goldstein who clearly had no intention of letting another horse pass him. Golan Way led from start to finish and pocketed over £11,000 in prize money for WRB Racing. A great result for Sheena, Jamie and the lass Hayley who led up.

Well done to the owner's WRB RACING!

A little birdie also tells me that the gorgeous Hayley has some good news of her very own. Sadly, I am going to have to disappoint her ever increasing fan club, as she has been proposed to by Joe Watson. I am sure it came as a total surprise to Hayley!

Many, many congratulations to both Hayley Williams and Joe Watson who are now officially engaged. I am looking forward to hearing all about Joe and his proposal when I visit the yard on Monday!

UPDATES ON THE HORSES

Well, I should be more careful with what I wish for in the future...rain and more rain and an unforgiving wind to contend with, but to be honest we have it much better here than most places in so far as nothing gets flooded and there is no 'all weather' gallop to wash away and the grass gallops never get worse than soft, albeit a genuine soft, so, all in all nothing to complain about really.

The horses have continued to run well and stay sound and let's hope that this continues. There are new horses to talk about this month and new ones arriving at the yard soon. Some already have owners and some are for sale.

A 3 year old Beneficial filly
==============================

Not over big but a well put together filly who could do any job. She has just arrived after being in pre training and we are all looking forward to seeing how she progresses in the next few weeks.

Flyinflyout.
============
...............SOLD

She will be arriving later this week (beginning of December)

She is a winning 2 year old 1/2 sister to Screaming Brave. She is currently turned out and I think the plan will be to leave her out for a little more before she comes back for the flat or to be ready for Juvenille hurdling when it starts in May. 1 SHARE FOR SALE - JANUARY 2010 - SEE DETAILS ON HORSES FOR SALE PAGE!

**NEW ** FOR SALE ****
=========================
Whipperway
==========
£6000 + VAT

She will be arriving later this week. She is another winning 2 year old over a mile. A very tough filly again bought with next year in mind. She is currently in training and options are open as to whether to carry on running or give her a rest until the spring.

Reaction
========
A 3 year old chestnut gelding I bought at Newmarket Horses in Training sale from Mick Channon. He is by Alhaarth, out of a mare called Hawas who also bred Power Elite a duel grade 2 hurdles winner and one time Triumph Hurdle favourite.
He is a miler on the flat and has won off 72. A minor setback kept him off of the track until October. He likes soft ground and hasn't had a summer of racing he is schopling encouragingly and is perfect to get on with for the new owners to have a lot of fun with.

He's available in 4 x 25% shares of £5000 plus VAT or for 100% £20,000 plus VAT

To view or to find out more, please call SHEENA on 07748 181804

Silber Mond
============

He's loving a bit of mud and is working now towards running in the next few weeks now.

Last one Standing
=================

Very pleased with his progress now there is an ease in the ground, working and schooling well. The sad irony is that this Bumper winner actually needs good ground to see him at his best, but we will find it somewhere and we are very much looking forward to his debuting in novice hurdles around the New Year!

Rocky - stable name - NOW NAMED: EASTON CLUMP - RUNS AT NEWBURY TUESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2009
============================================

Things are coming together for him now and I am pleased with his progress. He seems to gallop on regardless and would appear to be happy on soft ground so we are getting on with him as much as possible as he will be too old to run in Bumpers after the New Year. It would be preferable for him to have a first look at a race course for the experience before he then goes jumping.

Geoffdaw
========

After 3 runs he got a mark of 108 after one more run it became 105. I'm happy enough with the mark and can see how it was arrived at. If it's too high he'll come down more, if not, he won't or go up a bit.

Jamie's instructions to hold up were (in hindsight) all wrong at Huntingdon and in future he will be ridden more prominently which he prefers, even though as The Racing Post says, he's a non stayer who gets outpaced before staying on at the one pace, which roughly interpreted means that he stays but not in a hurry.

**NEW**
========

Goodwood Starlight
===================

He was very successful for John Dunlop winning 4 races and rated in the mid 90's on the flat. He has been struggling to find this form since but he did show the odd glimmer this season and is off a dangerous mark if we can get him back.
He will also be schooled over hurdles and possibly run over hurdles as this can very much perk a horse up. If taking to the hurdles he has the potential to make up into a serious novice hurdler. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with him so there is no logical reason why there shouldn't be a lot more good days to be had with him.

Forty Thirty
============

Thoroughly enjoying his break and eating lots and lots and will come back in to work in the New Year all fresh and ready to go.

To view or to find out more, please call SHEENA on 07748 181804

Paula
======

Fully back were she should be and enjoying her work. Softer ground is fundamental to her and she has it now!

Appointment
===========

Again, fully recovered from her aches and pains and are getting on with her well now. Another that's likes the softer ground and happy now.

Le Chiffre
==========

I was devastated when jockey Stephen Donohoe reported him needing the run last week but then again looking back at his form he always has taken a run or two after a break before. He was balloted out this weekend and I'll get him in again as soon as I can.

Screaming Brave
===============

Made a hugely satisfactory debut at Warwick and was unlucky to come up against an Alan King horse, especially as the 3rd was 25 lengths behind! Very disappointed it rained too much at Cheltenham for him but we would have all felt terrible to have seen heavy ground beat him, especially as we had Leicester as a back up with suitable ground, so he duly won at Leicester instead!

Sometimes these can be hard decisions to make, a big prize, a graded race and Barizan beatable and the thought there all the time that we don't know for sure ground wise until we try it. In the end it was simple if you take all greedy factors out and just look at Screaming Brave as a young hurdler with a promising future that we should do our best to do the right thing by him. There will be a few entries going in for him now and he will go where the most suitable ground is.

Blazing Bolte
=============

She's working really well now and just wants better ground before she runs next.

Mohanad
=======

Picked up a little wound as opposed to an injury at Wetherby which is taking longer than anyone would like to recover from. He should be back cantering Christmas time and he can look forward to a profitable spring. These things are a nuisance, but again he's only 3 and has a promising career, he probably wouldn't appreciate the heavy ground and has probably never had much time off before. So there we go.....a negative has now become a positive!

Golan Way
=========

In very good order indeed and will head for Cheltenham on the 12th December for the Relkeel Hurdle. However good he may or may not be I wouldn't have fancied taking on Zayner in the Ascot hurdle and as it turned out there was no disgrace in being 2nd to Mr Thriller at Chepstow. I can see clearly now why second season horses go chasing at such a young age as they are quite simply uncatered for in race programming once out of novice company. With a little patience now it will have its own rewards when he goes chasing next year when he's another year stronger and another seasons experience will set him up for a successful chasing career......unless he turns out exceptional as a 3 mile hurdler that is.....(who knows)

Kashmina
==========

After a bad dose of the "nearlys" she actually won at Taunton. I sound surprised as although I didn't think she'd mind a bit of soft I just wasn't expecting her to enjoy it that much. She missed last winter as she didn't seem to act on it but we only toyed with the idea of not running for a whole nano second as where else would she run once the ground had gone so she took her chance. Well done to Marc Goldstein as it was his first winner after coming back from injury.

White Rocks FOR SALE £5000 + VAT
==============================================

He's doing well and his Chepstow race a nose separated him and Blazing Bucks who won over hurdles at Sandown. He needs a bit more schooling yet to get him jumping how we like them to and then in the right grade he will be fine.

Tobago Bay
===========

Another on a break, only he thinks he must have done something wrong to be so neglected (in his view ) and doesn't enjoy holidays like we like to think he should do.

Tarawa Atoll
============

Is making a really pleasing start to her hurdling career with a 2nd and 3rd following on from her Plumpton fall.

She will improve with experience and a step up in trip in the New Year.

Son of Karinga
==============

All calm in "Ted's world" now. Now schooling over hurdles and fences and working with our better horses. He just has to keep it all together and produce this on the track.
