NEWS AND UPDATES FOR OCTOBER 2011 - ANOTHER DOUBLE FOR THE YARD WITH ALFRAAMSEY AND MOHANAD BOTH WINNING AT HUNTINGDON
THURSDAY 20TH OCTOBER 2011
GALLOPING QUEEN 2ND AT BRIGHTON AT 10/1

Galloping Queen on the way down to the start. Ridden by Martin Leonard and owned by Ashley Head.

Great to see young Martin Leonard back in the winners enclosure today, this time in second positon with the new horse, Galloping Queen, owned by Ashley Head. Martin has now had two visits to the winners enclosure but sadly, not yet in first place. Surely, it's only a matter of time before that happens. Thank you to Ashley Head for giving Martin the ride on his new horse and let's hope Galloping Queen has her head in front in the near future.

Galloping Queen, making her debut for this stable, was still looking for a first victory coming into this and will surely win something similar if repeating this sort of effort.

ALFRAAMSEY WINS 3RD RACE ON THE BOUNCE!
Another great result for the West Team. A great ride by Marc Goldstein on this genuine and clearly very talented horse.

Alfraamsey (15-8) secured his third successive victory with a game display from the front in the williamhill.com Juvenile Hurdle.
Winning trainer Sheena West told Racing UK: "The first day we had him we schooled him and there were big grins all round. He just absolutely loves it.
"He's got to go up in grade one way or the other. There's the Wensleydale Hurdle (at Wetherby) or the juvenile at the Open meeting (Cheltenham)."

A modest juvenile event. It was run at an uneven gallop and the first four went clear from three out, but the first pair dominated at the business end.
Sheena West does really well with ex-Flat performers in this sphere and her ALFRAAMSEY enhancedher decent record in this race with a gutsy effort. He was conceding upwards of 10lb all around and looked vulnerable, but he still proved too strong in this quest for the hat-trick. Sharp tracks like this are tailor-made for him and a sound surface is also important to his cause.

Only the second day of the month and Sheena and her team have another two winners with Alfraamsey and Mohanad giving Sheena a fantastic double on this beautiful Indian summers day in Huntingdon.
Congratulations to Sheena's jockey Marc Goldstein who rode both winners and to all the team. Well done to The Tapestry Partnership and to Heart of The South the respective owners.

ALFRAAMSEY put his previous experience to good use here and set out to make all. He soon built up a clear advantage and, while he let them close up heading to the turn into the straight, he was just being given a breather, and soon kicked clear again. It was an easy win in the end, but defying a double penalty in the coming weeks against more promising recruits from the Flat won´t prove as simple.
QUOTES: Trainer Sheena West: "Alfraamsey has proved a revelation over hurdles and we may go back to the Flat before long as he´s well handicapped."
They went a sound gallop here thanks to Herschel, and MOHANAD came from midfield to take it up at the third-last, and was always holding his nearest challenger up the straight. He looked on a stiff enough mark beforehand but has been in good formon the Flat recently and transferred that back to hurdling. His trainer is hoping he´ll creep in at the bottom of the weights in the Cesarewitch.
QUOTES: Sheena West, trainer of Mohanad: "It was now or never for him today and Marc gave him a great ride. He´s in the Cesarewitch, but I don´t know if he´ll get in."
