From Stan Clegg The Affordable Partnerships
On behalf of the members of The Affordable Partnerships, I would like to thank Sheena and all at Balmer Farm Stables for the enormous hard work they put in with all the horses in their care to produce excellent results with our horses.
We have three horses with Sheena, Whipperway, Dubai Glory and our new addition Geordie Boy, a 2 year old dream for the future. Whipperway won at Fontwell by 14 lengths on her first run of the season, she is presently on her summer holiday and will return a much stronger filly, for the coming season. Dubai Glory has been in the winners enclosure on all 4 starts for us, winning twice at Royal Windsor, she is what racing dreams are made of.
We are also members of another partnership and own shares in Mohanad, one of the most genuine horses one could be involved with. Last season he ran no less than 15 times, winning over hurdles and being in the winners enclosure on 13 occasions. After his recent break with Sheena he returned to racing a much stronger horse this year, finishing 2nd at Lingfield on his first run, then going to Kempton where he duly obliged winning on the flat over a 2 mile trip, then onto Goodwood, finishing 2nd, beaten a short head. It is with great credit to all her team that they continually produce their horses at the races, looking a picture, regularly winning best turned out, fit and ready to run giving all connections great days out. The horse is extremely game, but, an enormous amount of work has to be put in by Sheena and her team.
If you are looking for a horse, keep it in a relaxed environment and get it to the races ready to do justice for all concerned, we would highly recommend Sheena.
Thanks from us all. Stan

FROM NEIL COSTER - HEART OF THE SOUTH RACING - DECEMBER 2008
Sheena West and her team have had an incredible impact on the success of Tobago Bay since he joined their yard a year ago, winning two Juvenile hurdle races and gaining a great 3rd place at Cheltenham. Nobody would have predicted that following a number of disappointing runs as a two-year old, when trained elsewhere, which included one Kempton run described by the Racing Post as Slowly into stride, soon ridden and lost touch, tailed off from halfway, virtually pulled up last 2 furlongs.
Sheena quickly realised that Tobago needed a longer distance and with very few suitable flat races, recommended schooling him over hurdles. This had the desired affect and a very successful run of 6 successive win and placed races followed. The Racing Post recognised the difference stating he has clearly been revitalised by a move to Sheena West's yard and a switch to hurdles.
Sheena and her team are very friendly and provide open and honest feedback on how the horse is progressing and always make us feel welcome to visit the stables at anytime. I would highly recommend Sheena to any other owner.
